What led you to become a massage therapist?

Years ago I had an aromatherapy massage with an incredible therapist at a tough time I was going through. It was so impactful I started exploring other complementary therapies to support my own wellbeing.

I have always had a love for nature and plants and was very drawn to aromatherapy, harnessing the power of medicinal herbs.

I wanted to train to deepen my knowledge and understanding about the human body, and its incredible ability to heal itself. Massage to me is empowering way to look after ourselves.

How would you describe your massage style?

Attentive. Responsive. Caring. Able to apply deep pressure if required.

No two treatments are the same. I like to use different techniques from the disciplines I have learnt. Even as a experienced therapist, I see myself a constant student always learning and developing.

Why did you join Relax Bristol?

I like the flexibility and autonomy I have with Relax. It works well around my other freelance work as a Woodland Facilitator.

What does holistic mean to you and how do you take care of your own wellbeing?

An holistic approach is looking after ourselves in a variety of ways, supporting our physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. This means listening in to our own intuition, as we all have different ways to support our own health.

For me, a regular yoga practice, swimming, being creative, eating plenty of fresh vegetables and spending lots of time in nature.

Who would benefit from your treatment?

I don't believe there is a single soul out there who couldn't in some way benefit from a restorative massage! It's like a MOT for the body – preventative rather than cure!

I have experience working with clients from a variety of backgrounds including mental health services, day care centers and community outreach groups. I have spa experience and have worked as a therapist on the Great Barrier Reef in the past.

I consider myself to be a nonjudgmental, warm and empathetic therapist.
